It’s not always easy to write your own Christmas Carol, especially if you’ve never written a song before. Luckily, it’s a lot easier when you have prompts or fill-in-the-blank templates to work from, and that’s exactly what Write Your Own Christmas Carol: A Christmas Composition and Activity Pack gives you:
This is one of the absolute favorite activities of the many in my piano studio. I try to do compositions for big holidays, and Christmas is the biggest! Younger students love to go home with a piece of sheet music that they wrote and play it at their family Christmas gatherings. Even the adults get a little sense of pride, though they try to hide it!
As a teacher, you can use the rhythm prompt cards to help students learn rhythms. Many do much better when words are involved!
Comes with 135 total Christmas word-rhythm prompts, 5 games, and 18 song templates. Learn theory while creating a Christmas carol to share with friends and family!
I used some of the prompt cards to write my own carols too! See it in action here.
