Am I too old to take up piano?
In short, no! A lot of adults hope to become a concert pianist, however, so while I am supportive and believe that with hard work we can all accomplish anything, it is important to be aware that people who began rigorous training at the age of 2 also have a slim chance of becoming a concert pianist.
If you are curious, ready to learn a new skill, love music, or want to learn for the sake of it, you’re never too old. :)
How long does it take to get good at piano?
That depends a lot on you, which I know isn’t the answer you’re probably looking for. It depends on your experience with music, your motor skills, things like that. But if you practice regularly, you’ll be surprised at how quickly you’ll pick it up!
You’ll definitely be playing songs from the very beginning, if that’s what you’re wondering.
Do you have any age restrictions?
Great question! Because of the technical difficulties of teaching online, I do require students be a minimum of 10 years old. If you find that your child is independent in owning their school work, can sit still and attentively for 30 minutes, and are excited to learn piano, then I’m definitely happy to make exceptions! What equipment/materials do I need?
A piano/keyboard, lesson books, webcam (can be on a tablet or phone), and a good internet connection!

Books
If you’re signing up for regular lessons, and you’re a beginner, you won’t need any books for the first couple of lessons, but I will ask you to purchase a set of Piano Adventures books (I’ll tell you the specific set).
Otherwise, if you’re a seasoned pianist who’s already gone through lesson books, we’ll stick with repertoire and exercises. So no books!
Do you give refunds?
Excellent question, especially if you’re signed up for regular lessons!
I handle refunds on a case-by-case basis, but I do everything I can to make sure you are getting what you paid for (whether it’s through make up lessons or refunds, whichever we decide works best).
