Community Guidelines

Welcome to the Girl in Blue Music community!

This space is for you to learn and grow as a musician.

The goals of our community are to grow as musicians together, hold helpful conversations around our unique experiences with music, and use music and music theory as a practice of empathy.

To meet the collective goals of our community, it’s important that all members feel safe and supported. By being a user of this site, you agree to abide by the following community guidelines.

To help everyone have the best possible experience, please look at our community guidelines:

Positive Guidelines

Introduce yourself in the courses you join.

Post questions and start discussions on any topics relating to the related course. Learning lives and breathes on discussion: you and your community buddies will get a lot out of anything you have to add.

Remember that there is a human person who lives, breathes, and has their own life on the other side of the internet. Treat them how you would if you were face to face, in public, respectfully.

Be polite and communicate with respect. Practice giving the benefit of the doubt and always begin with curiosity in every conversation: “I wonder why you said that. Tell me more?” is preferable to “You’re wrong” or “You’re an idiot”

Respect the privacy of other community members. Any personal information shared on the group portions of the platform will be removed by moderators. Do not share or request any personal information from any community members.

Contact support directly with feedback at [email protected]

Rules and Restrictions

Personal attacks, harassment, trolling, and abuse will not be tolerated. This includes any form of hate-speech, discouraging language, or repeated messaging and commenting after being asked to stop.

Don’t share posts or comments without permission. This is a closed community with an expectation of privacy. Sharing any posts, comments, or other information violates that privacy.

Don’t share personal or private information.

Don’t post irrelevant messages. Stick to the topics that each course community group covers.

Don’t post promotional content of any kind.

Don’t post explicit, rude, or aggressive content. The users of this site constitute a PG audience level rating.

Consequences

In the event guidelines violations, Girl in Blue Music will take action to protect other members of the group. This might include a warning or in the event of extreme or repeat behavior, the member may be banned from the community.

If you experience or witness any behavior that doesn’t follow our community guidelines, please contact support directly at [email protected].

All reports are kept confidential.
